Neil has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and is licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Associate in North Carolina. He is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors, and is attaining certification in Reality Therapy from the William Glasser Institute.
He has helped clients struggling with addictions, intermittent explosive disorder (anger management), depression, social conflicts with peers and family members, and trauma associated with suicide. He has experience in developing, implementing, and modifying treatment plans according to the goals of his clients. He also speaks Spanish fluently.
Using Reality Therapy, Neil has helped clients understand their needs and values, accept responsibility, and make better choices to create the change they want to see in themselves. Neil uses several Reality Therapy techniques to help clients reach their therapeutic goals. These techniques include positive addictions, contracts and plans, and pinning down. Besides using Reality Therapy, Neil creates a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe.
