Max Hvasta, Intern in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Max is a student at the UNC at Charlotte pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He attended Queens University of Charlotte for his Bachelor’s in Psychology and Human Service Studies. Max focused on leadership and mentoring first-year students with an emphasis on supporting and connecting underprivileged students with the resources, information, and support they needed to succeed at the college level. Much of his coursework both at Queens and UNCC has focused on clinical skills, social justice issues, and group work.
Max’s training and interests are centered around client-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral, narrative therapy, and trauma focus in his work. Max enjoys working with teens and adults and creating a safe space for all clients – especially for those of LGBTQ+ and minority statuses.
