Kayla Kitts, Intern in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Kayla is a current graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In May of 2023, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and minors in Neuroscience and Speech & Hearing Sciences. Kayla has aided children, adolescents, and young adults from diverse backgrounds and across multiple settings, including a school and day treatment center. She has worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, life transition, and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Kayla is passionate about providing individuals with a safe and non-judgmental space to explore their emotions, thoughts and behaviors. She takes an empathetic and client-centered approach to therapy, in which she works alongside clients to develop coping strategies, enhance self-awareness and esteem, and foster meaningful connections with others. Kayla strives to empower her clients, as she believes every individual is capable of personal healing and growth.
